Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Forthroute returns-management app for Shopify. By installing or using Forthroute, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service

Forthroute provides a branded returns portal, return-workflow tools, exchange support, merchant-initiated refunds, and optional return-label workflows for a connected Shopify store.

2. Accounts and Access

You need a valid Shopify store and must approve the permissions requested during installation. You are responsible for configuring your return rules, reviewing return requests, issuing refunds, and keeping account access secure.

3. Software Price and Optional Labels

Forthroute has no software subscription and no monthly return limit. If you choose a Forthroute-brokered prepaid label, the carrier cost plus a 1% handling markup, rounded up to the next $0.10, is billed through Shopify. You may instead connect your own supported carrier account.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, submit unlawful or deceptive material, infringe another person's rights, or use the service for an unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual Property

Forthroute's original software, site content, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You retain rights in data and material you lawfully supply and grant the limited permission needed to operate the service you request.

6. Product-specific Responsibility

You remain responsible for your return policy, approval decisions, refund decisions, customer communications, product condition assessment, and compliance with consumer and carrier requirements. Forthroute does not automatically issue refunds.

7. Service Disclaimer and Liability

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

8. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Forthroute by uninstalling the app through Shopify. Charges already approved for purchased labels and obligations connected to open returns survive uninstall where applicable.

9. Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms when the service or applicable requirements change. The updated date appears above. Questions can be sent to returns@forthroute.io.
